Champlain Community Services has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Green Mountain Support Services (GMSS) and Vermont’s Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) following DAIL’s recent notice of SSA de-designation to GMSS. That memorandum outlines CCS’ intention to assess and initiate operational control while assisting GMSS in maintaining services and workforce as it works towards re-designation.

Like CCS, GMSS is a specialized service agency (SSA) with similarities and a history of partnership. Our agencies share a business office, EHR (electronic health records) platform, a training platform and we maintain a shared-staff contract between our agencies.

CCS’ intention in entering this agreement is deepen our important partnerships with GMSS and DAIL, help stabilize GMSS while also supporting the stability of the larger Vermont Developmental System of Care, and – most importantly – ensure the Vermonters served by GMSS retain essential supports, while maintaining a consistent standard of service to CCS consumers.
