Thanks to United Way of Northwest Vermont, Inc. for providing a $2,500 micro-grant to CCS through the COVID-19 United Response Fund. These funds made it possible for CCS to acquire tents as a key resource in our gradual return to in-person services.

One of the biggest challenges CCS faced in returning to some semblance of direct service provision was,  How do we keep our staff and people ins services safe and supported while also helping them to reduce the isolation for staying at homes?

“Over the months since our direct service closure in March, we’ve slowly phased in more and more direct/in person services we determined that we needed to be able to provide some supports at Headquarters in Colchester – but we can’t do it safely inside our building,” said Executive Director Beth Sightler.  “With funds from the United Way of Northwest Vermont we’ve purchased two large (10×20) three-season that will allow us to provide supports for up to 6 people per hour (with their staff) throughout the work week. This enables our consumers and staff to safely reconnect with their CCS peers at CCS.”

As our consumers and staff to safely reconnect with their CCS peers, we’ll take a big step toward reducing isolation. Thanks to United Way for making it happen!
