“I can speak for myself”
At CCS, we encourage individuals to express themselves through self-advocacy — the skill and ability to take control over one’s life, make decisions, solve problems, and speak for oneself.
Consumers have the right to:
- communicate
- choose support workers
- find a job and work
- have relationships
Champlain Voices
The CCS self-advocacy group, Champlain Voices, meets every Monday afternoon to plan social events, problem solve disability related challenges, mentor high school students, and connect with their peers. Champlain Voices meetings are open to anyone interested in self-advocacy!
