CCS offers a powerful array of employment and education supports for Vermonters with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Four distinct yet complementary programs allow individuals to choose the supports that best fit their current employment and/or education goals.
Our integrated set of tools and network of community partnerships strengthen each component to provide a deep experience and powerful opportunities for our participants.
Employment supports range from career exploration and internship opportunities to job training and coaching to first job through career advancement. We offer education options serving both current and transitioning high school students, access to post-secondary study, and exciting lifelong learning expriences.
Way2Work is CCS’ internationally recognized adult employment program, designed to help participants find work and advance in careers in the competitive economy.
Partnering with dozens of area employers, Way2Work provides the chance to identify job interests, explore opportunities, acquire job-specific skills and set and pursue career goals.
School2Work is a career development initiative offered in partnership with Chittenden County high schools.
Building on Way2Work’s proven practices, expertise, and community connections, it helps students successfully transition from high school to competitive employment or post-secondary education.
Bridging is an academic-year program emphasizing experiential learning and deep community engagement to prepare students for a successful transition from high school to adult life.
Working with five Chittenden County high schools (Burlington, Colchester, Mt. Mansfield, South Burlington and Winoosli) it empowers students to gain the skills, confidence, and independence they need for their future.
Peer Growth & Lifelong Learning (PGLL) is a continuing education program that offers facilitated learning, community engagement, personal growth, and experiential opportunities for participants. In partnership with Northeast Kingdom Human Services and Lamoille County Mental Health Services, it provides programming across northern Vermont.
