Delaina Norton officially became CCS Executive Director on August 19 and reached out to the CCS community with an introductory message, which is shared below. Welcome aboard, Delaina!
Hello Everyone,
Thank you, all, for the warm welcome thus far. I am thrilled to officially step into my role as the new Executive Director of Champlain Community Services. Reflecting on my journey, I realize how it all started in an unexpected yet profoundly impactful way. As a freshman nearing the end of my first year studying Human Services, I needed a summer job. Little did I know how that first-year home from school, working as a Direct Support Professional, in a residential setting, would shape the rest of my life.
That initial role was a humbling experience, and it marked the beginning of a path filled with learning, listening, and growth. Working in a group home with adults with developmental disabilities, I was fortunate to meet some incredible teachers who have profoundly shaped my approach and commitment to service. Their experiences and stories ignited a passion within me to advocate for opportunities and ensure everyone can experience their best life. I am deeply grateful for those formative years and excited to channel that passion into our work here at Champlain Community Services.
The past month has been a bit of a whirlwind and you’ve been supportive and gracious throughout the process. I especially want to thank Brent for stepping in as interim during these past months and doing an incredible job!
I look forward to collaborating with you to continue making a meaningful impact in our community.
Warmly,
Delaina Norton (She • Her)
Executive Director
