Our friends and colleagues at Howard Center are taking the lead to help us all join the global world mental health movement this October. On October 10th, Howard Center hosts its first annual community-wide recognition and celebration of World Mental Health Day.

They’ll also be offering a free and open to the public weekly speaker series by Zoom webinar on a number of relevant topics. Several Howard Center clinicians and staff members will be giving talks and we’ll also be joined by local community partners. Each talk will be followed by the opportunity for Q & A.

On October 13 , featured speaker and author Bassey Ikpi, a Nigerian-American immigrant, mental health advocate, and NY Times bestselling author of I’m Telling the Truth but I’m Lying, will talk about her experiences living with a mental illness, parenting, and working. Dr. Jude Smith Rachele will moderate.

On Howard Center’s World Mental Health Day pages, you’ll find the full roster for the speaker series (advance registrationis required) and a host of resources which include ways to reach out to Howard Center and other organizations, local and national resources, articles, and publications.

Register here for one or all of the free weekly sessions.
