Deaths by suicide and fatal overdoses have increased across Vermont and the nation causing immense pain and challenges. COVID has accelerated this rise and its aftermath of trauma will trail well behind the pandemic.
At the Clara Martin Center (CMC), Central Vermont Substance Abuse Services (CVSAS) and throughout the Vermont Care Partners network we have seen firsthand the surge in numbers of individuals returning to use since March. Substance use, particularly alcohol, is rising in this age of isolation.
The work CCS and other colleague agencies within Vermont Care Partners is being highlighted during the first several months of 2021 on VTDIGGER.ORG.
