Champlain Community Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, formed in 1967 and incorporated in 1973.
In 2002, CCS closed its sheltered workshop (the last such work center in Vermont) and converted to community-based, individual support services.
Since 2002, CCS focused energies on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in four main areas:
- Improving supported employment services that support individuals in obtaining and keeping competitive jobs in the community, as well as supporting individuals in volunteer community activities;
- Providing community supports to individuals to assist them to experience typical life in the community;
- Expanding the number of individuals for whom residential supports are provided; and
- Refining our focus to provide the necessary support to transition age youth and young adults.
